Abstract:
This paper examines the impact of building Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control system setpoints such as temperature and flow rate on total building energy requirements, for a typical system design and operation. Through the analysis focused on a summer and winter operating condition, the range of energy usage and the potential for minimizing building energy requirements by dynamically adjusting setpoints are presented in this paper.
