Abstract:
Using a component-based software development, applications can be constructed from individual reusable software components providing particular functionalities. The testing of a particular component is very important not only individually, but in the context of its neighboring components as well. In the SimCo simulation tool, which we developed, it is possible to perform tests of the software components in a simulation environment. For this purpose, the neighboring components of the tested components can be replaced by their simulation models. In this paper, we describe an approach for the semi-automated generation of the simulation model of a software component based on the analysis of its interface and on the observation of its behavior among its neighboring components.
