Abstract:
Network Simulator 3 (ns-3) is a powerful tool for modeling the behavior of computer networks using simulation. We have developed three well known differentiated service packet queuing methods: strict priority queuing, weighted fair queuing, and weighted round robin queuing, in the simulation framework. In this paper, we present the implementation details of the three modules as well as their usage. By implementing these modules in ns-3 and demonstrating their use, we intend to facilitate further research and experimentation with our contributions. We believe that our work will be utilized in solving outstanding problems that would have been impractical to investigate without our modules. Lastly, through validation, we confirm that our introduced modules simulate these queuing methods correctly.
