Abstract:
The “Hospital de Clínicas” is one of the busiest hospitals in Paraguay, with an average of 1150 outpatient per day. Normally, patients have to wait long periods of time to be served, causing their anger and discomfort. This paper presents an agent-based model of the process of outpatient’s consultation in the Department of Internal Medicine, in order to better understanding of this process and evaluate different solutions to reduce the patient waiting time.
