Abstract:
Introducing high-definition headlamp systems in the automotive industry opens up a wide range of possibilities for improving existing and developing new types of dynamic lighting functions. Due to the complexity and subjectivity of light distributions of modern headlamp systems, simulation-based development is indispensable. This paper presents a first realtime simulation of high-definition systems in virtual environments. The simulation results are evaluated using validated software for simulating static light distributions at night. The performance of the implementation on the test hardware is also discussed. First results show a great potential for future development, which will be shown at the end of the contribution.
