Abstract:
The 5-Steps Simplified Modelling Process (5-SSIMP) is a method designed to develop modular and reusable Agent-Based Models of Land Use and Cover Change (ABM/LUCC) in an interdisciplinary context. It is based on the definition of three types of Reusable Building Blocks (RBBs): Conceptual-RBB (conRBB), Computer-RBB (comRBB), and Executable-RBB (exeRBB). We present a practical modelling example based on the 5-SSIMP method for creating an ABM/LUCC applied to the socio-economic tourism system of Corsica.
