Abstract:
Abstract— The use of electronically activated, variable transmission materials, and AI control methods, in buildings will enhance environmentally and socially sustainable behaviors. The example of a smart façade, allowing automated control of temperature, daylight, view and privacy in the interior of a prototype house, is presented. The performative, aesthetic, and cultural implications are discussed.
