Contemporary Smart Cities: Key Issues and Best Practices

Abstract:
The goal of the paper is to summarise the most common key issues and best practices of contemporary smart cities based on a globally selected and analysed research corpus with governmental and business documents from the last three years. The paper also provides a comparative analysis of the corpus with recently published academic sources. The ultimate goal is to create a framework study of the contemporary smart city landscape to support the connected research projects from different disciplines, and also, to give ammunition for policy makers of future cities to their strategies.
