A Lightweight Web Component Toolbox for Database-Driven Web Applications

Abstract:
Creating, content editing and interacting with relational databases in web applications has traditionally required developer knowledge of languages such as JavaScript or PHP. We present a lightweight, framework-independent toolbox for database-driven web applications. It provides intuitive database visualization, querying, and editing directly in a web browser—requiring only HTML knowledge. Unlike traditional frameworks like Angular or React, our web components simplify database interaction using a thin REST-based access layer. This work extends prior research by detailing the architecture, integration challenges, and considerations of extensibility.
