Abstract:
This journal paper presents a measurement-based performance management system for contention-based wire-less sensor networks. Its main features are admission and performance control based on measurement data from light-weight performance meters in the endpoints. Test results show that admission and performance control improve the predicta-bility and level of performance. The system can also be used as a tool for dimensioning and configuration of services in wire-less sensor networks. Among the rapidly emerging services in wireless sensor networks we focus on healthcare applications.
