Abstract:
This paper examines the impact of building Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control system setpoints such as temperature and flow rate on total building energy requirements, for a typical system design and operation in four different weather conditions. Through the simulation and the result sensitivity analysis, the range of energy usage and the potential for minimizing building energy requirements by dynamically adjusting setpoints are presented in this paper.
