Abstract:
Person re-identification is a crucial step in an indoor human localization system. It is a problem of person identity association at different locations and times. This paper presents a method for person re-identification in the context of multimodal person localization using WiFi and camera. From the human region of interest determined by human detection, our method builds a visual signature of the person based on kernel descriptor and performs person re-identification by applying ranking Support Vector Machine. The evaluation results on several benchmark datasets as well as our dataset built in the context of multimodal person localization confirm the robustness of the proposed method.
