Internet of Things to Provide Scalability in Product-Service Systems

Abstract:
In a convergence context between Internet of Things - IoT and Product-Service Systems - PSS, this paper presents a way to integrate concepts and build computing systems to assist PSS. The conceptual basis and a architecture for a middleware to do this convergence was investigated. A prototype of the middleware was built and was ran in a simulated case study in the marine industry. It was concluded that the adopted ideas are feasible and an implementation of the system has viability under performance point of view, in the industry of construction and assembly.
