Statistical Sampling in Process Mining Discovery

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose some ideas related to the application of Statistical Sampling techiques to simplify the application of a Process Discovery algorithm to big amounts of data. Much of the information about the business process could be indeed discovered by analyzing only a small amount of events, making unuseful the application of the algorithm to the entire data set.
