Abstract:
Word Sense Disambiguation (WSD) aims to find an appropriate meaning of ambiguous words in a particular context. Traditional supervised WSD methods rarely take into account lexical resources, such as WordNet, but recent studies have shown the effectiveness of incorporating glosses into neural networks for WSD. However, since most of this research is based on WSD, such as English, it has not been shown whether Japanese gloss information, such as a Japanese dictionary is effective for WSD. In this study, we aim to evaluate the effectiveness of using glossary information of the Japanese dictionary for WSD. As results of experiments, we found it effective to use glosses of the Japanese dictionary in WSD.
