Abstract:
eHealth solutions create opportunities for improving efficiency and quality in health care. Still many eHealth innovations never get beyond the project phase. A business model approach can help eHealth entrepreneurs and innovators to bridge the gap between Buzz (ICT as a promise for better care) and Business (viable eHealth services and business models). The research group ICT Innovation in Health Care developed a business model approach based on three components: the STOF business model framework, the innovation process and relevant success factors for eHealth innovations. This resulted in the development of an online eHealth innovation Matrix (eHix). The approach is illustrated by an actual eHealth case.
