Abstract:
In most Western countries, there is substantial growth in inter-organizational cooperation in design and delivery of health services based on Internet technology. However, there is a gap in the literature describing these efforts, and future research as well as practice can benefit from more elaborate theoretical models to understand this phenomenon. In order to close this gap, this study reviews the literature on Business Process Management in an inter-organizational context with a special focus on factors that can explain the success of process development in inter-organizational contexts. The review identifies several critical success factors that may be important as a starting point for future research in eHealth.
