Abstract:
Several kinds of communication systems have been provided to hospitals in recent years. In these network systems, connected terminal equipment is managed and operated on a central console. This means that an operator is needed to do the job. To address this problem, we have proposed and developed a novel event messaging system for hospitals in which a sensor device paired with a mobile terminal reads a Quick Response Code (QR-code) on a display of sensor devices at a patient’s bedside. When the device detects a patient is having trouble, it sends event messages to the terminal. The system enables hospital workers to take over the handling of patient monitoring operations by reading the original QR-code on their own mobile terminal.
