Abstract:
While the COVID pandemic is coming to an end, will the telemedicine surged during the pandemic fade away or become a “new normal”? This paper reviews the application of Taiwan’s digital technology in the pandemic, discusses the suitable scenarios for telemedicine, and introduces the responding legal/regulatory amendments. The authors argue that telemedicine has a potential to solve the care scarcity problem in an aging society, and the law should be more proactive in regulating telemedicine from a wider perspective aiming to better facilitating decentralization, resource-integration, and precision care.
