and the proximity in time. On the other hand, there is a relationship between
the number of tourists and sport event news, especially when considering data
from Germany, USA and Italy. Sport tourists’ effects are higher when the event
takes place in high or medium-high seasons. Important public policy regarding
the better scheduling of those international sports events and how to better
address marketing investments are highlighted.
