The
WORKSHOP TOURISM & CREATIVE INDUSTRY
took place in Valencia,
on July 11th and 12th, 2013 in order to review the latest research in the field
of different creative industries related to tourism (eco-tourism, cultural tourism,
cultural tourism, culinary tourism and heritage tourism) from a multidisciplinary
point of view.
Distinguished papers were selected to be presented during the two-days
workshop. We encouraged the participation of professors as well as Master &
Doctorate Students.
This workshop was supported by:
• The
Research Micro-cluster (MCI) “Globalization, tertiarization, tourism
and heritage: towards the sustainable management of the past as
future” at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (member of the VLC
Campus of International Excellence).
• The Faculty of Management & Business Administration at the Polytechnic
University of Valencia
• the Management Departament, the Master of Product & Service
Management (MUGEPS) at the Polytechnic University of Valencia
• The AECID (Ministry of Co-operation)
• The Technical Department of Humanities and Social Sciences of the
General Research Projects (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness).
We would like to specially thank Prof. Rhonda Koster for its participation and
engagement in the workshop. She has focused her research on murals as
a community economic development endeavor. She studies Canadian mural
communities (namely, a profile of visitors to mural sites, and the economic
impact of mural development for those communities that have developed the
murals as a tourism attraction).
We would like also to thank all the Scientific Committee their help to succeed
with the workshop selection and discussion of presentations.
