Summary:

This video continues with the solution of a December 2025 examination that started in video [p2252aEN].

In here, we tune a PID controller for a velocity control loop achieving zero error when subject to step setpoint and disturbance increments, as well as non-oscillatory (overdamped) response with a given settling time specification. The simplest controller fulfilling the requirements will be a PI controller, and a pole-placement argumentation is used to design its gains.

Although it was not asked in the examination, the Matlab code to simulate the designed controller is discussed on video [p2252bsEN].
