The factors that make intangible heritage are: it´s transmitted from
generation to generation, it´s constantly recreated, it infuses people a
sense of identity and continuity, it promotes respect of human creativity, it
favours the social integration. Also oral transmition, in the Mojiganga the
Dance Master figure directs the dance guidelines, preserving the purity of
it, becoming the oral transmitter to the Dance Masters of the future. Use of
public spaces, in Titaguas the performance is in the same location since the
XVIII century, representing:
• In front of “Iglesia Parroquial del Salvador” they represent
movements and religious figures.
• In front of “Exmo. Ayuntamiento” they represent profane figures,
that related to traditional crafts and guilds, which dates back to
medieval times.
Since the entry into force, in 2006, of the Convention for the Safeguarding
of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, there is great interest social
institutional and intangible expressions, as are the representations of the
nature discussed in this article, popular dances.
Its oral transmission is a generational continuity testimonial value. Social
integration and tourism value accounting for the town has a special meaning
with this dance, which enjoys conservation craft skills and traditional
clothing. It´s also highlights the musical value with the original melody,
which has been passed down in oral until 1979.
Its touristic value is that it´s a unique territorial resource and as it performes
every seven years acquires a great tourist value in two ways:
First
and foremost thing attractive to outsiders is the local economy
developmen during the dates of that representation. This leads the enhance
of the service sector of the village.
Second
, is an open call to people of the city, they come back to Titaguas
at this time, due to the adherence to this tradition, especially those people
who, for some different reasons, live and work out of town .
