The challenge of the XXI century with regard to cultural heritage goes through
new policies that take into account various aspects. Cultural policies should
not consider their work as safeguarding objects ‘authentic’, but should focus
on those who are ‘culturally representative’. If we not reduce the heritage
exclusively to special-ists of the past and, we contrary, we reinterprets it
instead, we will situate to “heritage reformulated to consider their social
uses, not from a mere defensiveness, simply rescue, but as a more complex
how society appropriates its history, can involve new social sectors” (García
Canclini, 1993:60). These heritage restitution policies must be aware that the
perspective of the protagonists must be incorporated into the manage-ment
process. It is necessary the involvement and interaction with various social
actors to perform sustainable management. In this sense, management should
take into ac-count the relationship of the various factors when implementing
any intervention program on cultural heritage.
